There's a lot to talk about when discussing the anime series Kill la Kill. If you're not familiar with the show, the lead character, Ryuko Matoi, searches for her father's murderer; there's an academy ruled by a powerful student council; and there's a class system where more powerful students wear extraterrestrial clothing which give them special powers… you should just watch it. It's these uniforms, called Goku, that are particularly interesting, and specifically how the wearers unitize them. Could Goku be considered technology? And how does FASCISM play a role in all this?!?! Watch the episode and find out!

Hi! my name is Dima Fedotof, I'm an CG artist and computer short animaton director. I am an CG artist for a long time, and I prefer not to count by the years (I do not remember them) but by 3dmax versions. When I started working, actual version was 3dmax 3.2. At first my computer, who had already 32 megabytes of RAM, and hade big anough vinchester for windows and max or windows and 1 game. So I had to constantly reinstall them. Yes, long ago it was. Then I decided for myself what is CG. This is a new art form, underrated and misunderstood. Now CG is highly valued, but the era of post-modernism has made computer graphics mechanical art, which undoubtedly sad. However, postmodernism did not spare anyone, so that's all right. No one is offended.

Starting with a 3D painting, I gradually moved to create a short animations. In 2013, I made the animated short "Fortress" who suddenly liked people. Given that I do not have professional education, it probably indicates a certain abilities, maybe even talent! I like to think so. For the moment I'm doing the development of these skills by working on a new project, the working title of which - "the last day of the war." Here on the site you can see my work, if you have any questions, feel free to write me d.s.fedotof@gmail.com Сейчас я живу в прекрасном городе Санкт-Петербурге, планирую полнометражные мультфильмы и анимационный сериалы, пишу сценарии, рисую концепты, в общем без дела не сижу

Kill La Kill - Ragyo´s End & Senketsu´s Goodbye + Satsuki catches Ryuko [Studio Trigger]

A follow-up anime episode was released as an OVA on September 3, 2014.

Kill la Kill is set at Honnouji Academy (本能字学園 Honnōji Gakuen), a fictional high school situated in Tokyo Bay, Japan on the island of Honnō City. The school is dominated by its fearsome student council led by Satsuki Kiryuin. Its students wear Goku Uniforms (極制服 Gokuseifuku, from gokusei (極製, "finest quality") + seifuku (制服, "school uniform")) which give their wearers superhuman abilities because they are constructed with a special material known as Life Fibers (生命戦維 Seimei Sen'i, lit. "Life Battle-Fibers"). Transfer student Ryuko Matoi, who wields a scissor-shaped longsword that can cut Goku Uniforms, challenges the council as she searches for her father's killer. Although she is initially easily defeated, she finds a sentient sailor uniform that she names Senketsu, a Kamui (神衣, lit. "Godrobe") which is completely made of Life Fibers and transforms her so that she can face Kiryuin and her trials and obstacles. She is befriended by her hyperactive classmate Mako Mankanshoku and lives with her family.
When Satsuki reorganizes the allocation of Goku Uniforms through a battle royal and king-of-the-hill event known as Naturals Election, Ryuko faces the members of Satsuki's Elite Four, who wear powerful Three-Star Goku Uniforms, in a series of duels. Her final fight is interrupted by Nui Harime, the wielder of the other Scissor Blade and the murderer of Ryuko's father. In the ensuing fight, Ryuko transforms into an uncontrollable monster.
With the Tri-City Schools Raid, Satsuki annexes the major schools in the other regions of Japan, and quashes Nudist Beach (ヌーディスト・ビーチ Nūdisuto Bīchi), a paramilitary organization led by Ryuko's homeroom teacher Aikuro Mikisugi. She arranges for a festival that will host her mother Ragyo, the academy's director and the CEO of REVOCS Corporation (REVOCSコーポレーションRibokkusu Kōporēshon), a clothing manufacturer that has dominated the world-wide market. Mikisugi reveals that the Life Fibers, which have been woven into all REVOCS clothing, are actually aliens that consume their wearers. When they devour the festival audience, Satsuki turns on her mother, revealing her end goal has always been destroying Ragyo, but the rebellion is short-lived as Ragyo has fused with the Life Fibers to attain tremendous power. Ragyo recognizes Ryuko as her own daughter and Satsuki's younger sister, who survived the termination of a Life Fiber experiment and was raised in secrecy by Ragyo's missing husbandIsshin Matoi.
A month later, Ragyo and the Life Fibers have devastated Japan and have captured Satsuki, leaving the Elite Four without Goku Uniforms and forced to hide out with Ryuko and the others at Nudist Beach. When they rescue Satsuki, Ragyo captures and brainwashes Ryuko into fighting her. After Ryuko frees herself, she and Satsuki challenge Ragyo, who plans to detonate the Earth in order to propagate the Life Fibers throughout the universe. After taking down the transmitter and blasting the cocoon that houses the Original Life Fiber, Ryuko chases Ragyo into space and defeats her, causing the Life Fiber clothes to perish.
In a follow-up OVA episode, Ragyo's aide Rei disrupts Honnouji Academy's graduation ceremony, but Satsuki convinces her to abandon her struggle. Honnouji Academy is shut down during the sinking of Honnō City and everyone leaves to live out normal lives.

Glassy Ocean [Kujira no Chouyaku] - [Shigeru Tamura, 1998]

Glassy Ocean (Kujira no Chouyaku) from Javtor on Vimeo.

Time has come to a standstill. A whale appears from a glassy ocean and spends half a day soaring gracefully across the skies. What makes this works extraordinary is the artist's decision to use the transparency and visual bulk of 3D computer graphics only for the un-moving ocean and glaciers. The people, whale, and ships are all hand-drawn, and with this contrast, he invites the viewer into a different world. This is a poem written in animation, the creation of a true fantasy. This project was a considerable under taking, and the results are marvelous.
