What’s Michael? Fatcat Collection Volume 1

The Award-Winning Cat Manga Hilarity Returns

In 1997, What's Michael? arrived at Dark Horse with its first English translation. Now, the New York Library Award series returns to print with its first-ever English collection in What’s Michael? Fatcat Collection Volume 1!

Described as "Japan's version of Garfield, Heathcliff, and Krazy Kat all rolled into one," Makoto Kobayashi's What's Michael?, the original cat manga, mixes slice-of-life cat reality with out-of-this-world cat fantasy into one tasty dish of laughter!

What’s Michael? FatCat Collection Volume 1 contains the out-of-print original What's Michael? Volumes 1-6. The 520-page oversized collection includes the out-of-print volumes Michael's Album, Living Together, Off the Deep End, A Hard Day's Life, Michael's Favorite Spot, and Michael's Mambo.

What's Michael? FatCat Collection Volume 1 arrives in comic shops on January 29, 2020, bookstores February 11, 2020, and is available for pre-order now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and at your local comic shop.

Praise for What's Michael?

"Sometimes fanciful, sometimes very well observed, and always humorous." —Library Journal

I manga di Jiro Taniguchi - [Le schede di animeclick.it]

:

Jiro Taniguchi, 1947

Jiro Taniguchi's work is centered around the every day themes, the slowness, the solitary walk, the relations between man and nature. Well known in France for his intimistic parallel universes with "Quartier Lointain", he was awarded numerous prizes in Europe. He notably cooperated with Moebius on a manga called "ICARE".
Ever since I heard one of his radio interviews where he explained that nothing could ever be the same after March 11th, I had wanted to meet him.

Manga Mad Tokyo Otaku Trailer

An introduction to the pop culture history of comics and animation in Japan, particularly adult comics, and the obsessive fantasy world of comic & animation fans, called 'otaku', their media mecca, cybersex paradise, Akihabara Electric Town, and the world's largest comic market, Comiket. Comics (manga in Japanese) and animation (anime) are the biggest pop entertainment media in Japan. More people in Japan read comics than any other country. Comics account for 40% of all magazines & books sold in Japan. 60% of all cartoon animation broadcast around the world on TV is made in Japan. Comics in Japan are for adults, not only children. Politicians, doctors, office ladies and salarymen read them. Otaku are geeky adult males who mostly live with their parents who lack communication skills and don't date girls, preferring to reside in a comic/animation virtual reality world...
