The second half of the anime will premiere on October 18 at 12:30 a.m. JST.

Last January, during the airing of the television special Mushishi Tokubetsu-hen: Hihamukage was announced, the arrival of a new season anime titled: Mushishi: Zoku-Sho (Mushishi: The Sequel Chapter), which debuted last April, totaling 10 episodes. There was a pause season - summer - and now the series will resume in the fall as a good split-cour, October 18 to be precise, with the title Mushishi Zoku Shou 2.
Mushishi: The Next Chapter (Mushishi: Zoku-Shō) reunites most of the staff from the first season, led by director and series script supervisor Hiroshi Nagahama. Cast members Yuto Nakano andMika Doi are also reprising their roles as Ginko and the narrating voice.
Aniplex USA describes the story:
They existed long before anyone can remember. They are simple and strange in nature, not resembling any other plant or animal in this world. In ancient times, people revered these bizarre creatures and called them “Mushi.”
People once again began to believe in the existence of these "Mushi" when they beganaffecting their lives in inexplicable ways.
The one who connects the world of “Mushi” to the world of humans—they were called the "Mushi-shi." All life exists not to hinder others in this world.
They are simply there to live as they were meant to.
The first half of the anime premiered in Japan on April 4. Crunchyroll and Daisuki streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
Urushibara's original manga began in 1995, and finished in Afternoon in 2008. Del Rey published the the manga, and Funimation released Hiroshi Nagahama andArtland's first anime adaptation and Katsuhiro Otomo's live-action film version in North America.
Urushibara's recent two-chapter special manga spinoff of Mushi-Shi inspired the January television special. Kodansha published the manga in the January and February issues of Afternoon magazine, which shipped on November 25 and December 25, respectively. The anime special aired on January 4 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11, and Crunchyroll streamed it into several countries.
