The titular Vanadis of Tsukasa Kawaguchi's fantasy series are beautiful girls who ride into battle, brandishing weapons received from dragons. There are seven such Vanadis who rule seven territories and instill fear in neighboring countries. A boy named Tigre is a minor noble in the kingdom of Buryūnu who encounters a Vanadis in battle. She is the silver-haired, red-eyed "silver fraulein" Ellen. She defeats him, but instead of killing him, she takes him prisoner.

 Tatsuo Sato (Bodacious Space Pirates) is directing and overseeing the scripts at Satelight. Yousuke Kabashima (The Girl Who Leapt Through Space) is adapting Hinata Katagiri, Nobuhiko Yanai, and Yoshiwo's original character designs. Masaru Yokoyama (Freezing Vibration, Queen's Blade series) is composing the music. Konomi Suzuki will perform the opening theme, “Ginsen no Kaze” (Wind of the Silver Flash), while voice actress Hitomi Harada will perform the ending theme, "Schwarzer Bogen" (Black Bow).

Kawaguchi launched the light novel series in 2011 with art by Yoshi☆wo, and Media Factorypublished the eighth volume in May. Artist Nobuhiko Yanai has been drawing the manga adaptation in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine since 2011.

The series will premiere on October 4.

Madan no Ou to Vanadis, in origine una serie di light novel scritta da Tsukasa Kawaguchi e disegnata da Yoshi☆wo, conta al momento nove volumi usciti per la novel dall'inizio nel 2011. Un adattamento in manga disegnato da Nobuhiko Yanai è partito poco dopo sulla rivista Comic Flapper.

Nel corso del Summer School Festival 2013,  l'editore giapponese Media Factory ha fatto diversi annunci riguardo al futuro adattamento di alcune serie di Light Novel in versione animata. Tra questi figurava Madan no Ou to Vanadis (Il re dei proiettili magici e la Vanadis), romanzo fantasy di Tatsuya Kawamuchi con le illustrazioni di Yoshi☆yo.

La storia si ambienta in un Europa fantastica del medioevo, in cui le battaglie si combattono a suon di spada e magia. Sui campi di battaglia dominano però le Vanadis, sette belle guerriere che governano su altrettanti territori e che brandiscono particolari armi ottenute dai draghi.Durante una di queste battaglie il giovane arciere Tigul, nobile di basso rango del regno di Brune, si trova di fronte alla Vanadis Eleonora "Ellen" Viltaria che, naturalmente, lo sconfigge. Invece di infliggergli il colpo finale, Ellen cattura Tigul come suo prigioniero e servitore.

Sarà lo studio Satelight a realizzare l'adattamento anime. In carico della regia troviamo Tatsuo Sato (Mouretsu Pirates, Rinne no Lagrange) che supervisionerà anche la sceneggiatura; Yousuke Kabashima (Gundam SEED) curerà il character design sulla base degli originali di Hinata Katagiri, Nobuhiko Yanai e Yoshi☆wo con la direzione artistica di Masatoshi Kai. Masaru Yokoyama (Queen's Blade) comporrà le musiche mentre Satoshi Motoyama dirigerà il comparto sonoro.

The June issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine is announcing on Friday that a television anime adaptation of Asato Mizu's Denki-Gai no Honya-san (Electric Town Bookstore Worker) manga has been green-lit. The anime will premiere this fall, and future issues of the magazine will have more details on the anime.

The "youthful bookstore comedy" revolves around the folks who work in a manga shop deep in a certain "Electric Town" neighborhood. ("Denki-Gai" or "Electric Town" is a popular name for shopping areas that specialize or used to specialize in electric and electronic items, like Tokyo's Akihabara.) The protagonist Umio works part-time at "BOOKS Umanohone" along with his senior at work (but not in age) Hiotan. As many dedicated manga fans visit the store, there is always something going on.

The manga inspired a drama CD that the real-life bookstore chain Comic Toranoana sold last year. The CD starred Ryota Ohsaka (The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Nagi no Asukara) as Umio, Natsumi Takamori (Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future, Bodacious Space Pirates) as Hiotan, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online, The IDOLM@STER) as Kantoku (a male employee at the store), Minami Tsuda (Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future, Wake Up, Girls!) as Sensei (a female employee aiming to become a manga creator), and Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama, Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii) as Sommelier (a male employee who is very versed in manga knowledge).

A second preview has been posted for Denkigai no Honya-san, the fall anime adaptation of Asato Mizu's manga about everyday life of the seven clerks who work at "Books Umanohone," which sells doujinshi and adult books in addition to typical manga.

Ayana Taketatsu canterà l'opening della serie mentre l'ending "two-Dimension’s Love" sarà cantata dalla stessa Taketatsu insieme alle Takamori, Tsuda e Aizawa riunite nel quartetto delle denk!girls. La commedia firmata da Mizu conta attualmente 7, il settimo è uscito a fine maggio. Oltre all'anime, che è previsto per l'autunno, il manga ha ispirato un drama CD che aveva nel cast tra gli altri Ryota Ohsaka, Natsumi Takamori e Tomokazu Sugita ma non è detto che siano confermati anche nell'anime.
