The Tokyo Game Show (東京ゲームショウ Tōkyō Gēmu Shō), commonly known as TGS, is a video game expo / convention held annually in the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba, Japan. It is presented by the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. The main focus of the show is on Japanese games, but some international video game developers use it to showcase upcoming releases/related hardware. Like Germany's gamescom, the Tokyo Game Show allows the general public to attend during the final two days.
History

The first Tokyo Game Show was held in 1996.[2] From 1996 to 2002, the show was held twice a year: once in the Spring and once in Autumn (in the Tokyo Big Sight).[3] Since 2002, the show has been held once a year. It attracts more visitors every year. 2011’s show hosted over 200,000 attendees and the 2012 show bringing in 223,753. The 2013 show broke records with 270,197 in attendance.[4] The latest game to be released there is Unmapped 2.

The 2012 Tokyo Game Show showcased 11 exhibition areas consisting of business, general public, educational and areas to buy merchandise.

San Diego Comic-Con International is a multigenre entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego, California. It was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by a group of San Diegans, which included Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger and Mike Towry; later, it was called the "San Diego Comic Book Convention". The name, as given on its website, isComic-Con International: San Diego; but it is commonly known simply as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con or "SDCC".[2][3][4][5] It is a four-day event (Thursday-Sunday) held during the summer at the San Diego Convention Center in southern California. On the Wednesday evening prior to the official opening of the event, there is a preview for professionals, exhibitors, and select guests pre-registered for all four days.
Comic-Con International also produces two other conventions, WonderCon, held in Anaheim, California, and the Alternative Press Expo (APE), held in San Francisco. Since 1974, Comic-Con has bestowed its annual Inkpot Award on guests and persons of interest in the Popular Arts industries, as well as on members of Comic-Con's Board of Directors and the Convention Committee. It is also the home of the Will Eisner Awards.
Originally showcasing primarily comic books and science fiction/fantasy related film, television, and similar popular arts, the convention now includes a larger range of pop culture and entertainment elements across virtually all genres, including horror, animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels. According to Forbes, the convention is the "largest convention of its kind in the world";[6] Publishers Weekly wrote "Comic-Con International: San Diego is the largest show in North America";[7] it is also the largest convention held in San Diego.[8] In 2010, it filled the San Diego Convention Center to capacity with more than 130,000 attendees.[1]

Programming
The convention typically offers classes, cosplay chess, cosplay contests, dealers room, gaming tournaments, manga library, masquerade ball, musicians, panel discussions, raves, various gaming rooms (arcade, console, retro), video screenings, and voice actors.[4][6][7][8][9]
History
The convention originates from an 1997 36-Hour Anime Marathon, organized by the Triangle Area Anime Society (TAAS) at North Carolina State University.[1] It was first held in Raleigh, North Carolina at the North Raleigh Hilton in 1998, moved to the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, North Carolina for 2001, and to the month of May in 2002.[10][11][12] In 2009, four Japanese guests canceled appearances due to quarantine concerns over the Swine flu.[13] In 2009, Animazement moved to the Raleigh Convention Center.[14] Noboru Ishiguro was scheduled to attend the 2012 event, but died prior to the event.[15]

It was great seeing everyone at Animazement. I had a really awesome time. AZ has a strict camera policy compared to most cons, so I mostly just got shots of people outside of the convention on Saturday. There were a lot of great costumes that I missed. MomoCon and AZ fall on the same day for 2014, and we'll be covering MomoCon in Atlanta, GA this year.

London Super Comic Convention is an annual comic convention dedicated to comics.[1] In its inaugural year 2012, Stan Lee[2]was its main guest. It has since since drawn in the likes[3] of J. Scott Campbell, Neal Adams,[4] George Perez,[5] Dave Gibbons, Dan Slott,[6] Charlie Adlard, Max Brooks[7] and Jonathan Ross.[8][9] Dealers from across the UK and USA come to sell their products and promote their businesses. There is also a large small press section and an active cosplay contingent.
