Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream Hi-sCool! Seha Girls television anime. The first episode will premiere on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m. EDT for premium members and one week later for free members.

Hi-sCool! Seha Girls revolves around the Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and Mega Drive reimagined as girls who have just enrolled in SeHaGaga Academy at Tokyo's Haneda Ōtorii station. They are given an assignment needed to graduate by a suspicious teacher. To clear this requirement, the girls must enter the world of Sega games to graduate without incident.
Hatsune Miku designer KEI created the original girl designs that inspired this anime. The series is being animated in CG at TMS Entertainment and Jinnis, with Sōta Sugahara (gdgd Fairies character design, animation director) directing the project off scripts written by himself and Masayuki Kibe. The production uses the MikuMikuDance software that has also been used for Minarai Diva, Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono, and KEI'sStraight Title Robot Anime. Sōta Sugahara and Kio designed the CG characters, andShigeyuki Watanabe serves as CG director.

Lo scorso aprile Sega ha annunciato l’adattamento in anime TV del progetto Sega Hard Girls, che antropomorfizza hardware game del produttore di videogiochi, nello specifico lo trasforma in 17 ragazze. Poi è stato rivelato che l’anime andrà in onda l'8 ottobre e si intitolerà Hi☆sCoool! SeHa Girl (Hi☆sCoool! Sega Hard Girl).
Le doppiatrici M.A.O (Dreamcast), Minami Takahashi (Sega Saturn), Shiori Izawa (Mega Drive), Manami Tanaka (Sega Mark III), Yūko Takayama (Master System), Sumire Uesaka (Visual Memory) canteranno la canzone song "Blooming!!"; mentre le doppiatrici Mai Aizawa (SC-3000), Yū Serizawa (SG-1000), Naomi Ōzora (SG-1000 II), Minami Tanaka (Game Gear), e Haruna Momono (Robo Pitcher) canteranno la canzone "Wakai Chikara -SEGA HARD GIRLS MIX-" (Young Power -SEGA HARD GIRLS MIX-). Il CD uscirà in Giappone il 22 ottobre al prezzo di 1,296 yen.
KEI (il designer di Hatsune Miku) ha ideato i disegni originali dei personaggi per l’anime, che vengono animati in CG dai designer Sota Sugahara e Kio, presso gli studi TMS Entertainment e Jinnis. Sota Sugahara (gdgd Fairies) dirige e sceneggia l’anime con la collaborazione di Masayuki Kibe, mentreShigeyuki Watanabe funge da direttore della CG. Lo staff utilizza il MikuMikuDance software, già impiegato in altri anime: Minarai Diva, Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono e Straight Title Robot Anime. Gli sfondi CG sono a cura di Fireball, infine la Sega supervisiona il tutto.
Il progetto vanta già una novel serializzata su Dengeki Bunko Magazine di Kadokawa dal 2013, in cui i vari hardware della Sega sono reimpaginati nei panni di dee, che vengono spedite nel Giappone dei giorni nostri. Kei la disegna, invece Toru Shiwasu (Boku to Kanojo no Game Senso) la sceneggia.
I personaggi Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Mega Drive, Game Gear e Master System sono apparse la prima volta all’evento “Segakko 13 ~Yume Kanaeshi Mono”, dedicato al gioco per PS Vita Samurai & Dragons, oltre che su T-shirts ed altri oggetti di merchandise.
